The Exercise Factor
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Physical Activity Guidelines recommend that adults participate in at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a minimum of 5 days per week. Yet, a recent study found only 27 percent of Americans actually meet this recommendation.
But the reality is: Healthy weight loss requires exercise.
The reason is twofold:
1) Exercise burns calories - When calories used exceed calories consumed, weight loss occurs.
2) Exercises raises base metabolic rate - By making exercise a habit, an individual will burn more calories throughout the day even when not actively exercising.
The good news is that designing an effective exercise program is not a secret but a science, and we know for a fact that 3,500 calories burned equals 1 pound lost.
At our Center, we leverage this formula in your favor by providing a supervised and personalized exercise roadmap that integrates physical activity into your individual weight loss program from Day One. Additionally, through our strategic partnership with Rehabilitation Consultants in Concord Plaza, our clients have reduced-rate access to a certified personal trainer, a certified athletic trainer, and on-site exercise equipment.
And as with all of our services, we communicate closely with your primary care physician throughout the entire weight loss process to ensure everyone involved in your care remains fully apprised of your activities and progress.
